Political discourse regarding Israel will always be divorced from military reality. It’s not because they don’t see it or fail to recognize how the IDF operations and environment differ from other conflicts. It’s because antisemitism is in their DNA, it’s because appeasing whoever wants to dismantle Israel is their modus operandi (even if it means supporting a terrorist group), and it’s because attacking Israel is the de-jour way to win the social justice Olympics
It seems to this Jew in America, that people of the Western World have gone flat out pussified! I even know a few Jews here that think what Israel is doing to terrible and Hamas and the Palestinians don’t deserve what they are getting. You are including that which is standard (where is the Pentagon? The UK's Ministry of Defense) and leaving out, through ignorance or malice, Israel’s many known military bases. We know they are known — because the Iranians targeted them. The IDF fights in uniform while Hamas only wears uniforms during periods of ceasefire. Etc.

The notion of continuous threat, attack and counter tactics is understood, but most of the democratic countries have not experienced or taken part in big large scales warfare. They often forget that warfare and operations are not without risks! Doing nothing is not an option for Israël. That said lots of people say Israël should have negotiated or else. Compleet crap, negotiations with extremist Muslims or religious governments only strength counts and not the expectation you will meet common sense.

Can you spend some talking about the IDF’s “Where’s Daddy” AI program that tracks suspected Hamas and waits until they are home with their family before blowing them up. Do you find it effective to eliminate entire families as part of your “defense” activities? Is there any concern that other families in the same residential building will be blown up as well? The strategic dissonance of most political leaders is greater than calling for peace and saving civilians while denying the conditions and methods of actually existing and potential war. It is bolstering and perpetuating the root cause of this war - partition of a country into nonviable states and maintaining the only choices as fight to become viable or perish. Anyone advocating a 2 state solution is a perpetrator of the unending conflict, and is opposing the legitimate right to a viable state of both arabs and hebrews. Reunification, local administration, constitutional checks and balances on tyranny of the majority, citizenship for all, loyalty to the union absolving past war crimes -- these sorts of things are needed to create the possibility of suppressing conflict. and that suppression is likely to only be successful when carried out by trusted representatives of the communities: israelis, settlers, arabs. The Israel enclave has the resources to reunify, mostly the IDF and software engineering based economy, but literally most of the world is stacked against it, clinging to the unintended mistake of 1947 no matter what the cost.
